Stacy Roberts, Staff Sergeant,
United States Air Force (1990-2002)
What inspired you to serve in the U.S. Air Force?
I come from a military family in that my father served in the U.S. Navy and my sister served in the U.S. Army. I wanted to serve, and I wasn’t quite ready for college following high school.
What was your biggest challenge during your service with the US Air Force?
My biggest challenge was the annual fitness test! I was never a runner, so completing our fitness test was always challenging – I always passed but it was grueling for me!
How would you describe the relationships with your fellow military members ?
I had awesome relationships! While serving in the Air Force I met some of the most dedicated and loyal people. Many that crossed my path were true “go-getters”, all of who were full of integrity.
If you had it to do all over again, what would you have done differently?
Knowing what I know now, I would’ve served at least 20 years if I could do it again. My 12 year tenure made for a fantastic journey, although a lifetime commitment would have been an even more memorable experience.
