PRESIDENT and CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Nesim Bildirici
With more than 20 years of leadership experience, Nesim Bildirici has a proven track record of building top-rated management teams world-wide. Prior to founding AMC Health, Mr. Bildirici was co-founder of RSL Communications, Ltd., and a Managing Director for R. S. Lauder, Gaspar & Co., a venture capital fund formed by the Lauder Family of Estee Lauder, where he was responsible for managing the initial investment in RSL Communications. Mr. Bildirici previously was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Columbia University.
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICERRobert E. Sass, Jr.
Mr. Sass brings 30 years of experience in the international healthcare industry, of which 15 years has been focused on the telehealth and virtual care market sectors. Prior to joining AMC Health, Mr. Sass was President and General Manager of SHL Telemedicine, USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SHL Telemedicine Ltd. (SIX Swiss Exchange: SHLTN, OTCPK: SMDCY), a leading provider and developer of advanced personal telemedicine solutions. Mr. Sass established an operating business unit in the US that included operations, distribution, sales and marketing for a cardiology medical device and service company. Previously, he was with Philips Healthcare as Sr. Director, Sales North America – Remote Patient Monitoring and Raytel Medical Corporation as President and General Manager, prior to its acquisition by Philips Healthcare. As a member of the Philips Home Monitoring Senior Management Team, Mr. Sass led the relaunch of their Telehealth business and the integration of the newly acquired cardiology business while driving double digit growth rates for more than five consecutive years. Most notably, his entry into the virtual care arena was through Viterion Healthcare, LLC, where he served as Director and Corporate Officer. He was responsible for the formation of the commercial operations of a new business jointly owned by Bayer Healthcare and Panasonic. He also led the effort to gain one of the first telehealth national contracts with the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Sass received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Dayton. He is also a founding board member of the Remote Cardiac Services Group, Inc. in Washington, D.C. and served as its President from 2012-2014.
CHIEF ANALYTICS OFFICER Nawaz Jadavji
Mr. Jadavji has over 15 years of experience in healthcare, spanning life science research, providers, and managed care organizations. Prior to joining AMC Health, Mr. Jadavji was an equities analyst covering managed care organizations at Deutsche Bank. Previously he advised hospital systems on their revenue cycle operations while at E&Y, Accenture, and boutique consulting firms. Mr. Jadavji holds a BA in Biology with a minor in Economics from Johns Hopkins University, and an MS in Industrial Engineering, Health Systems from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He also holds an MBA from Columbia.
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY and INFORMATION OFFICER Sam Karam
Sam brings over 15 years of telehealth experience to AMC Health. Prior to AMC Health, Mr. Karam worked for Optum, a division of United Health Group, where he was responsible for their telehealth program for the past 6 years. He was responsible for the development and management of Optum’s telehealth program that currently has over 25,000 active patients. While at Optum, Mr. Karam lead the design, development and FDA clearance and deployment of their telehealth solution in less than 1 year.
Prior to working at Optum, Mr. Karam was responsible for product management and development at Viterion Telehealthcare for 7 years. While at Viterion, he lead the system redesign effort that contributed to Viterion’s ability to secure one of the first national Veteran Administration telehealth contracts as well as the implementation of a $6M telehealth solution in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Karam graduated with honors from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering.
PRESIDENT, CLINICAL TRIALS DIVISION Michael O’Brien
Mr. O’Brien brings more than 30 years of broad-based C-suite experience in the life sciences and information technology industries. Prior to joining AMC Health, Mr. O’Brien served as the President and CEO of Beardsworth, a Contract Research Organization (CRO) that provides full-service clinical trial support for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies. Previously, he held executive level positions in highly innovative life science companies: Biocyte Corporation as CFO and CEO, Bionx Implants as CFO and Biosyn, Inc. as CFO. His high-technology experience with Allerion Corporation based him in the US, Paris, and London where he led their healthcare division. He began his career as a CPA with Deloitte. He holds a BS in Accounting from Villanova University.
PRESIDENT, GOVERNMENT DIVISION Lisa Roberts
Dr. Roberts has over 25 years of combined clinical, research and telehealth experience. Prior to joining AMC Health Dr. Roberts served as VP, Clinical Innovations, Sales and Business Development for Viterion Corporation (formerly a business of Bayer Healthcare). In that position, she managed the US and UK government telehealth businesses, including the largest telehealth program in the US (Department of Veterans Affairs) and the UK (Whole System Demonstrator Program), from contract procurement to completion. Dr. Roberts has participated in writing three American Telemedicine Association (ATA) Practice Guidelines. Among her many business awards, Dr. Roberts received the prestigious Bayer Corporation LIFE Award recognizing her outstanding leadership in the telehealth business and the Bayer Leadership Partnering Award. Dr. Roberts is also a licensed clinical psychologist who earned her Ph.D. from the University of Washington and completed a post-doctoral fellowship with the Department of Veterans Affairs Mental Illness Research Education Clinical Center (MIRECC).
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CLINICAL INNOVATION Jonathan Shankman
Mr. Shankman has more than 25 years’ experience as a research gerontologist, developing and analyzing new paradigms of chronic care delivery for the elderly and disabled across all segments of the care continuum. He is responsible for development of products that weave technology and clinical best practice into virtual care solutions that address a broad array of chronic and acute illness challenges. He also focuses on the application of analytics to support the development of clinical decision support tools. Formerly with the Metropolitan Jewish Health System, Mr. Shankman held progressive leadership positions with this non-profit, geriatric services organization serving the New York metropolitan area. Mr. Shankman holds a Master of Public Health, Gerontology degree, an MBA and a BA, all from Columbia University.
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT and GENERAL MANAGER, PAYER DIVISIONDaniel Prewitt
Mr. Prewitt has over 25 years of experience in healthcare, all focused on virtual care solutions for industry leaders like Teladoc, Healthways, UHG/Optum, LifeMasters, and McKesson. During his career he has been an individual contributor, led sales teams and developed and managed partnerships. He received his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University.
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT and GENERAL MANAGER, PROVIDER MARKET Chris Taylor
Chris Taylor is an innovative sales leader who brings over 25 years of experience working in remote patient monitoring. Prior to joining AMC Health, Mr. Taylor served as National Vice President of Sales for Medtronic, where he led an executive sales team that increased revenue by over 119% over three years. In addition to his work at Medtronic, Mr. Taylor has led sales teams for allscripts, Honeywell, and SpaceLabs Healthcare. He holds a Six Sigma Green Belt, and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and MBA from Brigham Young University.
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, PATIENT and CUSTOMER SERVICES Melissa Ellis
Prior to AMC Health, Ms. Ellis was the Director of Support for General Electric’s EMR (Electronic Medical Record) products. She oversaw the work of teams in Hillsboro, Oregon; Plano, Texas and Seattle, Washington and supported several thousand customers. Ms. Ellis also worked at Boston Scientific, providing support for its capital equipment medical devices, at IDX, supporting a Radiology and Imaging system and before that in various Customer Support roles for global semiconductor capital equipment companies. She is a graduate of Lewis and Clark, a private College in Portland, Oregon.
VICE PRESIDENT, CLINICAL OPERATIONS Johanna Georgilas
Ms. Georgilas brings an extensive background in information technology, clinical informatics and quality care delivery to AMC Health. While she began her career as a registered nurse delivering direct patient care, she has gained valuable experience working with innovative healthcare technology companies such as athenahealth, Philips Healthcare, and MEDITECH. Most recently, she led the Clinical Quality Performance team at athenahealth where she helped clients improve clinical quality and patient health outcomes. Previously she led the training and program development for the Telehealth Solutions Group at Philips Healthcare. Ms Georgilas earned her Bachelor’s of Nursing from Simmons College and a Master’s in Business Administration in Healthcare from Simmons School of Management.
